Many years before, I awoke from a strange dream, maybe it was a fore-telling... I could not sleep and spent hours upon hours drawing these dark images of  tribal hooks & of sharks that lurk beneath. What does it all mean? well... as any story goes... our origins are ancient.

It began long ago, when island warriors would raid in their war canoes and kill all the men to take all the fertile land and beautiful women. The phrase Ateyu pronounced    "a-tay-u" is an ancient war calling, to taunt the enemy before death. It literally means... "bring it,originates from a beautiful hidden island in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. The Brand is a calligram of a shark which has the word Ateyu spelled out within the tattoo. The tattooed markings inside the Brand or "pwinah" as we call it, are of our most powerful totem, the "peu" or shark which is most sacred to our clan.

The Logo found on the back of all Ateyu Tribal apparel represents the peu which is the eagle eye view of a tiger shark below as warrior would see, as it passes beneath his canoe. It is heavily tattooed in our native colours of a dark musky yellow and heavy brown just like the earth after battle. "You will never go hungry, for the ocean will always provide.

Our dream is to unite all the artists from our South Pacific Brothers and Sisters and share our designs, tattoo's and culture with you. We are your South Pacific identity, we are here... and we... are proud. Ateyu Tribal, our culture is with you
